Transfer function

The original configuraton files could not initially be located so new ones were created, the following tables show the relevant configuration file for the calibration/verification combinations:

Tree chronology files: stndrd_53_CH.mxd and stndrd_23_CH.mxd for the 53-site and 23-site chronologies respectively.

Climate data file: tempus23.dat

To execute the transfer function run: run_trans_US_53_CH.com or run_trans_US_23_CH.com for the 53-site and 23-site chronologies respectively.

NB avoid confusion between 23 grid points and 23-site chronologies!

The above configuration reproduces the results in Tables 2,3 and 4 of the paper.

Reconstruction

run_recon53.sh and run_recon23.sh generate the normalised output files osrreconout53.dat and osrreconout23.dat which are fed into the following two programs:

run_recon18811982_CH.sh denormalises and writes all gridpoints to file recon18811982.dat.

run_formwusreg_CH.sh denormalises and writes the area means to the file wusreg102.dat.

The reconstructed output does not exactly match the original (though it is very close), possibly due to higher floating point accuracy of modern machines.
